Photoshoot in the Sussex countryside
Photoshoot day is always good fun, but a lot to pack in!
The day starts with a quick coffee and introductions, if necessary – we have used the same team for a few years now; Colin from Holland Brothers Films is our photographer, and Keishia and James, our models. It is then off down the lane for the studio shots - the studio has been clad out by a local photographer during Covid - it is perfect, having everything one needs and more! It takes a while for Colin to get the lighting right, which gives the rest of the team a chance to catch up. Then, it is on with the jumpers and cardigans, with quick changes to get through the new designs on the models. When cold, the models are reluctant to take the jumpers off, but today they maintain their quality of being self-regulating - neither too hot nor too cold!
The morning flies by and we are all ready for lunch – homemade quiche, baked potatoes and salad, followed by Delia Smith's American brownies from her Complete Cookery Course book – the best – so light and moreish!
The River Ouse provided the backdrop for our lifestyle shots. A beautiful day, luckily, although it is not always like this. With extra hands to hold props and jumpers the countryside backdrops of trees, river and meadows came into their own. The occasional surprised dog walker wondered what they had wondered into and as ever the afternoon sped by. All shots done – front covers, back covers, product shots, lifestyle shots and the odd 'behind the scenes' shot, the day is complete. A run to the station for those who have to dash off or a debrief on the day if we can fit it in - we are all eager to see the finished images!
Photoshoot with Minnow and Wolf in Hampshire
At Misty Cashmere, we love our outdoor country life and try to produce our jumpers and cardigans ethically and sustainably. To this end, it was wonderful to team up with Hannah and Chris from Minnow and Wolf Flowers, who share our values and modelled our designs in their own fields of stunning seasonal flowers.
Chris and Hannah moved to Hampshire in 2020 and fell in love with the landscape, the seasons and their garden. What started as a passion project for them quickly grew into a flower farm in the field next to their cottage. With a lot of love and patience, they have created a field full of seasonal flowers, all grown without chemicals and in peat-free compost. Their style is wild and loose, and they enjoy working with each stem's unique shape.
Thee displays from Minnow and Wolf provided the most beautiful backdrop with dianthus, marigolds, roses and sweet peas, to name a few, whilst their meadows are things that dreams are made of and make the perfect backdrop for our soft and colourful jumper and cardigans.

The farm at Minnow and Wolf grows seasonal flowers and foliage to sell to florists, as well as flowers for their own events, including weddings, brand installations and private clients.

Keishia Quijano
Delia Smith's American brownie recipe (double as needed!)
110g butter
50 g plain chocolate
2 eggs, beaten
225g granulated sugar
50g flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
110g chopped nuts – walnuts or whatever you like!
Method: Line a tin. Melt the butter and chocolate in a basin over a pan of simmering water. Mix all the other ingredients, then mix everything together when the chocolate mixture has melted. Pour into the tin. Cook in oven 180° C for 20 minutes, or until it starts to come away from the sides of the tin. Don't overcook - it may look as if it is not quite ready! Cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then leave on a rack to finish cooling. Share with family and friends!
